For many EAs we run our own MetaTrader Strategy Tester reports (real ticks on MT5) and publish them on the Backtests page with the exact .set file we used, so you can repeat the test.
A backtest is not a promise of live results. Broker, EA version, and settings all change the outcome, so test on a demo account first.
Some MT4 terminals refuse to attach an EA (no OK button or an invalid license message). Every MT4 download comes with an attach fix (MT4 build 1444 pack) and a README, offered on the same page as your EA.
