Overview

Gold scalper built around a custom ZigZag swing filter on XAUUSD, with risk-based position sizing, trailing stops, break-even logic, and a built-in spread guard. Default session windows run roughly 03:00–19:00 GMT on weekdays (Friday cut-off at noon). M15 is the documented chart period for the Scalp build — forward-test on demo with your broker's gold symbol and spread.

How do I install Happy Gold MT5?

The zip has two MetaTrader 5 files — both are required. (1) Copy Happy Gold MT5 (Scalp)_fix.ex5 into MQL5 → Experts. (2) Copy ZigZag.ex5 into MQL5 → Indicators (root Indicators folder is fine). (3) Restart MT5 or refresh Navigator. (4) Attach the EA to your XAUUSD chart (M15 recommended) and enable AutoTrading. You do not need to drag ZigZag onto the chart yourself — the EA loads it internally, but the file must be installed.

Why do I need ZigZag.ex5?

Happy Gold calls a custom ZigZag indicator. If ZigZag.ex5 is missing, Strategy Tester and live charts show cannot load custom indicator 'ZigZag' and the EA will not trade correctly. Keep both files from the download zip.

Does the product zip include .set preset files?

No — the download is the compiled EA plus ZigZag.ex5 only. For a tested starting point, download author-recommended-xauusd-m15.set from the backtest section on this page, then load it through the EA Inputs tab → Load.

How do I match your Strategy Tester settings?

Use XAUUSD on M15, install ZigZag.ex5 first, then load author-recommended-xauusd-m15.set from the backtest card below. Our published run uses every tick based on real ticks (Model 4) — your broker's spread and gold digits may differ, so re-test on demo before live.

How should I test before live?

Always forward-test on a demo account with your broker’s gold symbol, spread, and commission. Confirm ZigZag is installed first. Gold scalping EAs are sensitive to execution quality and VPS latency.
